1. Reach Dehradun or Rishikesh (By Air/Rail/Road):

• The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun.
• Dehradun and Rishikesh also have major railway stations.
• From Delhi, you can take an overnight train or bus to reach either of these cities.

2. Travel to Gangotri (Base Camp):

• From Dehradun/Rishikesh, drive to Uttarkashi (approx. 6–7 hours).
• From Uttarkashi, drive to Gangotri, the starting point of the trek. Gangotri is about 100 km from Uttarkashi and takes 4–5 hours to reach by road.
• Gangotri is a well-known pilgrimage town and also the source of the river Ganga.

3. Trekking Route:

• The trek to Auden’s Col starts from Gangotri.
• The trail passes through Nala Camp, Rudugaira Base Camp, and Gangotri Base Camp.
• From here, trekkers approach Auden's Col Pass, crossing it over to reach Khatling Glacier.
• After descending, the trek continues towards Chowki and Masar Tal, eventually ending at Guttu in Tehri district.

1. May to June (Pre-Monsoon):

• Temperatures are cold, especially at higher camps.

2. September to October (Post-Monsoon):

• Temperatures fall well below freezing, making survival difficult.
