8. Nachiketa Tal

   Nachiketa Tal is a beautiful lake about 29 km from Uttarkashi town. A 3 km trek through forests of oak and rhododendron leads to the lake. According to Hindu mythology, the lake is named after Nachiketa, a young boy who had a conversation with Yama, the god of death. The lake is surrounded by a thick forest and offers a peaceful atmosphere.

9. Kuteti Devi Temple

   Located across the Bhagirathi River, this temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It offers a panoramic view of Uttarkashi town and the surrounding valley. It is especially popular during the Navratri festival.

How to Reach Uttarkashi

   The closest major railway station is Dehradun Railway Station, which is also about 170 km away. Another nearby option is Rishikesh Railway Station (around 145 km). From these stations, regular buses and taxis are available to Uttarkashi.
