Surkanda Devi Temple is a famous Hindu shrine located near Dhanaulti in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Dedicated to Goddess Parvati, it is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, believed to be the place where the head of Goddess Sati fell. Perched at an altitude of about 2,700 metres, the temple offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas and surrounding valleys. Pilgrims and trekkers reach the temple by a 2 km uphill trek from Kaddukhal. The temple is especially crowded during the Ganga Dussehra festival. Surrounded by dense forests, it is not only a spiritual site but also a scenic destination for nature lovers.
